Senegal Update
On December 31, 2010, Youth and Family Pastor Jeff of Neenah First UMC was fogged in in Wisconsin and snowed out of New York. Three days later he and his group left Wisconsin via Detroit and Paris to Dakar, and at this moment are finally enjoying a wonderful week in Senegal
Pastor Paul Armstrong and Dr. Strong of Fond du Lac will be leading a trip in mid-January to work with Dr. Bashir in village clinics.
Pastor Tony Fuller, Consultant for Senegal, will be leading a group of 4 couples from Appleton – Neenah – Menasha the end of January. This will be mostly a touring – fact finding expedition to see the work and people of the Senegal Mission Initiative and get a taste of Africa.
There are trips being formulated for the 2012 season. To throw your name in the hopper, call 920-982-6526 (Tony’s) for information.
Dr. Carol Meynen has led health teaching trips to Senegal, the last two in January of 2010 and 2011. Their focus has been to educate local community health workers. This project is a collaborative effort between UMVIM Health Volunteers and local nurses and Dr. Bashir, the local physician affliliated with the Senegal Mission in Dakar.
