The North Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church's UMVIM program is announcing the availability of a new resource manual entitled, "Community Based Health UMVIM Primer: resources for empowering others".
The new manual or a CD of its contents will be available for sale at the upcoming RxConnexion meeting in Des Moines, IA May 7-9. The manual includes a Community Based Primary Health Training Course with powerpoint, on a separate CD. The training course can be used to orient the novice regarding the principles of Community Based Health Care.
Another section offers samples of community health assessment formats. The book also offers links and information regarding open copyrighted health education teaching materials, links to agriculture, water training programs and solar cooking. There is also a mental health training program (Spanish and English) appropriate for education of village health workers.
